We’ve received an overwhelming response for our 2026 Volunteer Program and have now closed applications for 2026.

MMF provides inclusive, unique and engaging volunteer opportunities in marine mammal research, education and community engagement. MMF volunteers have the opportunity to participate in MMF field work, regular office-based activities, and community engagement and education events. We encourage anyone who is passionate about our marine environments, marine mammals, and the Burrunan dolphin to consider volunteering with MMF.

Requirements:

• Passion for conservation, the environment & community engagement;

• Willingness to be involved and try new things;

• One day week commitment for office-based volunteering at MMF Beaumaris office (20min from Melbourne CBD);

• Availability to attend MMF community engagement events including community festivals (weekends);

• Working With Children’s Check (volunteer).

The Marine Mammal Foundation is based in Beaumaris, Melbourne, Australia, as such it is required you are able to attend the workplace. Consideration of this should be taken if applying from interstate.
