Corporate Volunteering Programs
-
By combining our research and education programs, MMF is uniquely placed to undertake effective and meaningful conservation initiatives in our marine environments. Through our Corporate Volunteering Programs, we aim to inspire a greater passion for the environment and foster a desire to make a difference.
Our programs are led by marine science and sustainability experts, with our programs highlighting the impact of our research and education in the conservation of local marine environments, and providing participation opportunities to engage in innovative action activities to upskill and empower your staff.
We can host our Corporate Volunteering Programs in your workplace, or at an offsite location with beach access. Our programs can be tailored to meet your industry requirements and sustainability needs.

3 hours in duration, through our half-day program participants will explore the marine mammal diversity of Victoria, including Dr Kate's journey of discovery of the Burrunan dolphin.
Participants are introduced to the litter threat, and discover how local litter and negligent lifestyle behaviour contribute to the dispersal and impact of litter to marine environments.
To demonstrate the impact of litter in local environments, participants will undertake a practical activity tailored to the program, including:
A sustainability waste audit in the workplace,
Macro-plastic litter collection and a micro-plastic litter search.
To conclude the session, participants will identify strategies which can be implemented personally and across the workplace to mitigate this threat and become more sustainable.
-
Our full-day program is 6 hours in duration, and will expand on the learnings contained in the half-day session.
Participants will explore the marine mammals of Port Phillip Bay, and undertake hands-on activities to expand their knowledge of marine mammals and MMF research. A comprehensive practical activity will demonstrate the impact of local litter on marine environments, and using this knowledge, participants will be guided to workshop sustainability strategies which can be implemented across the workplace to foster a greater culture of sustainability and positive action.
