Bin Not Bay, Litter Free Lakes, & Bin Not Beach

  • Victoria is home to an incredible diversity of marine mammals, including the Critically Endangered Burrunan dolphin, migratory whales, and charismatic seals – to name a few! Unfortunately, litter, plastic and marine debris are all identified threats to marine environments both locally and globally. With an estimated 80% of marine debris originating from land, it is up to us to make a positive difference!

Our Bin Not Bay, Litter Free Lakes, and Bin Not Beach programs are tailored to be region specific, and introduce students to Victoria’s incredible marine mammal diversity, highlights the impact of litter on marine environments, and tasks them with undertaking sustainable action to make a difference in their own classrooms and school communities. Getting hands on with dolphin skulls, whale bones and other marine artefacts, this program inspires appreciation and fosters a connection to marine environments through our local marine mammals, highlighting how local litter can impact distant environments, and empowering students to take action and make a positive difference in their classroom, school community, and wider community.
