About the Marine Mammal Foundation
MMF is a small not-for-profit, ACNC Registered Charity and is on the Register of Environmental Organisations (endorsed as Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR) by the Australian Taxation Office). Currently, MMF largely has a grants driven financial stream, however with DGR status we now have the opportunity to expand into philanthropic and sponsorship streams. MMF is based in Mentone, Victoria.
MMF’s vision is to be the leading Australian marine mammal conservation and research organisation, advancing the natural marine environment through applied research, community engagement and next generation learning. Founded in 2013, MMF has quickly become the ‘go-to’ authority for applied marine mammal research, conservation outreach initiatives, and innovative education programs that align with the Victorian science curriculum. Raising the profile of our marine environment and the creatures that call it ‘home’, and in turn creating action initiatives to provide people the opportunity to play a role and “make a difference” in conservation outcomes, is extremely important to MMF. Our internationally renowned research underpins MMF’s conservation, outreach and education initiatives.
