Australia’s marine environments are some of the most spectacular in the world. From colourful tropical reefs, through to the temperate oceans which stretch to the Antarctic, Australia’s oceans are full of life. In fact, water is an important resource for both terrestrial and marine ecosystems, with water covering over 70% of the planet.

With most of the Earth’s water found in marine environments, there are many different drivers which influence the ocean as a habitat for life.

Through this module, we will explore the factors which influence life in the ocean and highlight the importance of Australia’s unique marine ecosystems.
