The Marine Mammal Foundation will be out and about throughout Spring, as we attend community festivals and events.
Festivals and events are a big part of our outreach and community engagement program. We are lucky that we are able to attend a range of diverse festivals throughout the state, giving us the opportunity to share our incredible work, and love of Victoria’s amazing marine mammals.
It is great to witness people of all ages delight at seeing a dolphin skull for the first time, and the stories shared from past interactions with dolphins, whales or seals. It is such a privilege to meet so many people with an interest in not only our unique local marine environments, but also learning about MMF, our work, and what we can all do to make a difference within our local communities. Meet the MMF Research Team, our dedicated MMF volunteers, and get a selfie with Bella the Burrunan Dolphin!
As part of our project Bin Not Bay: Education and Community Outreach Programs to Inspire and Empower Bay Health Stewardship, MMF will be extending the number and locations of festivals we attend. It is great to have the opportunity to return as participants in festivals each year, while also attending festivals for the first time.
